About Central Lancashire

Central Lancashire is a vibrant and historically rich region located in the North West of England, encompassing the urban centers of Preston, Chorley, and South Ribble. Campus

They started life in Preston and have since grown the number of their UK campuses. As well as Preston, they are also based in Burnley (East Lancashire) and Westlakes (West Cumbria). They were honoured to establish the first British University in Cyprus in 2012 having been granted an academic license by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. Their ambitious Campus Masterplan vision is to create an attractive and inviting, world-class campus compatible with our status as one of the UK’s largest universities. A core principle of their plan is to integrate their campus seamlessly with the rest of the City, benefitting current and future generations of students, staff, visitors and the wider community.

City Conditions

The climate of Preston is of a temperate maritime type, with a narrow range of temperatures, similar to the rest of the British Isles. Being relatively close to the Irish sea, this is more pronounced than areas to the south and east of Preston. The official Met Office weather station is located at Moor Park, less than 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the city centre, and surrounded by built-up areas, suggesting a degree of urban warming is likely, particularly during clear and calm nights.

About BSc (Hons) Cyber Security and Networking

The BSc (Hons) Cyber Security and Networking topup degree is delivered online by NCC Education and is a natural progression from our Level 5 Diploma in Computing with Cyber Security. This final year is awarded by the University of Central Lancashire (abbreviated UCLan). The programme aims to equip graduates with the knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills necessary for taking part in the design, implementation, management and security of modern computer systems.
